Allan’s Dental Journey: Dental implants in Budapest

When Allan first visited our clinic, he was missing several teeth, had a number of broken teeth, and was experiencing reduced chewing function.
Following a thorough assessment, our dentists created a personalised treatment plan that included six dental implants – four in the upper jaw and two in the lower jaw – together with a sinus lift on the left side. His treatment also included metal-ceramic crowns supported by both the implants and his remaining natural teeth in the upper jaw.

Missing teeth can have a significant impact on both your oral health and your overall wellbeing. One of the most immediate consequences is reduced chewing ability, making it more difficult to eat comfortably and properly break down food before digestion.
Missing teeth also place extra strain on the remaining natural teeth, which have to compensate for the gaps. Over time, this can lead to excessive wear, jaw discomfort, changes in your bite, and additional dental problems. In many cases, tooth loss can also affect facial appearance and self-confidence.
Broken teeth can cause further discomfort, as sharp edges may irritate the tongue and the inside of the mouth, leading to soreness and ongoing irritation.
Consultation & treatment planning
When we first assessed Allan’s case, it was clear that he required comprehensive restorative treatment to replace several missing teeth in both his upper and lower jaw.
After reviewing his X-rays and discussing his treatment goals, our dentists created a personalised treatment plan designed to restore both the function and appearance of his smile. Thanks to choosing Andersen Dental in Budapest, Allan was able to save thousands of pounds compared to the cost of equivalent private dental treatment in the UK.
Allan’s first visit to Budapest
During his first visit to Budapest, Allan received six dental implants, sinus lift surgery on the left side of his upper jaw, and root canal treatment. The first stage of his treatment was completed over two treatment days.
Following implant placement, a healing period of 3 to 6 months is required to allow the implants to integrate fully with the jawbone. The exact healing time depends on the quality of the bone and the position of the implants.
As Allan also required bone grafting as part of the sinus lift procedure, our oral surgeon recommended a six-month healing period before the next stage of treatment. This additional healing time allows the implants to fuse securely with the jawbone, providing a stable and long-lasting foundation for the final restorations.

Allan’s second visit to Budapest
After a six-month healing period, Allan returned to Budapest for the final stage of his treatment. During this visit, our dentists fitted and permanently cemented 14 metal-ceramic crowns – 12 in the upper jaw, restoring his entire upper smile, and 2 in the lower jaw, one on each of his back molars.
The visit lasted six days, allowing plenty of time to complete every stage of the treatment with precision.
Although patients stay in Budapest for several days during the final phase of treatment, they do not need to visit the clinic every day. While our dental laboratory carefully manufactures the custom-made crowns, patients have free time to relax and explore the city.
Having several days available also allows our dentists to carry out fitting appointments, make any necessary adjustments, and ensure the crowns fit comfortably, function correctly, and achieve the desired aesthetic result before the patient returns home.

Conclusion
By choosing dental treatment in Budapest, Jesper received a complete smile transformation while saving thousands compared to the cost of equivalent private dental treatment in the UK.
In addition to the treatment costs, you should also consider travel expenses. Fortunately, travelling to Budapest is both easy and affordable, with regular direct flights from several major UK airports. Return flights are often available at competitive prices, and Budapest offers a wide range of accommodation to suit every budget.
Even after including flights and accommodation, the overall cost of treatment in Budapest is typically significantly lower than private dental treatment in the UK. For many patients, the savings more than cover the cost of the trip, making dental treatment abroad an excellent long-term investment in both their oral health and their finances.
